Lincoln AL eliminates Lincoln NL

GALLMAN – In a battle between two Lincoln County teams, the Americans and the Nationals provided an exciting contest for their baseball fans in Tuesday night action of the Dixie Youth AAA Sub-District Six tournament at Copiah Academy softball field.
The Americans manage to survive a great battle with their counterparts and eliminate the Nationals with a 2-1 victory to advance to the championship contest.
The Lincoln Americans will be in action tonight as they return to Gallman to take on the undefeated Natchez All-Stars squad, starting at 6 p.m. If a second and decisive game is needed it will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
Only one team will be allowed to advance to the district tournament to take on the winner of the McComb sub-district tournament in a best-of-three series. Those same two teams will also have an automatic spot in the state tournament, which starts Friday, July 18 in Mendenhall.

The Americans and Nationals provided a great defensive pitchers duel for their baseball fans as both teams struggle to get their offense going.
The Americans managed to secure an early 2-0 lead in the first two innings of action and relied on their tough defense to keep the Nationals off balance throughout the rest of the contest.
The National threatened on several occasions but could only score one run in the top of the fifth inning as the Americans managed to hold on to secured the win.
Piker Wallace went the distance for the Americans to collect the victory on the mound with 13 strikeouts and seven walks.
Felder Sartin absorbed the setback for the Nationals with nine strikeouts and four walks. Conner Hall (2K, 1BB) saw some action in relief for the Nationals.
Chase White, Jake Meilstrup, Eli Smith, Jason Childress and Will Mayfield were the offensive leader at the plate for the Americans with a single apiece.
The Nationals were lead on offense by Conner Hall, Jacob Clark, Dawson Hester and Brandon Welch with a single each.
