Funeral Services for Ike Foster of Natchez are 10 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with burial in Fair River Baptist Church Cemetery. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday, June 14, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 16 until time of service at Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Mr. Foster, 92, went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 5, 1921, in Sontag, Lawrence County, to Plez and Georgia Foster.
Ike served with the U.S. Army 96th Evacuation Hospital in the Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe campaign from Oct. 23, 1942 to Dec. 18, 1945. He was awarded the Bronze Service Star for the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre of Operations, ATO Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
After his discharge, Ike was employed by Mid-Continent Oil Supply Company in Brookhaven and Natchez as salesman and later store manager and retired after twenty years of service in 1974. He served as Adams County Supervisor, District IV, and he founded Ike Foster and Sons. Ike served as deacon at Riverside Baptist Church, Natchez and was charter member and deacon of Pine Ridge Baptist Church, Natchez.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Alice Louise Fugler Foster; brothers, Harvey and Pete Foster.
Survivors are his wife, Julia McClure Miller Foster; son, Harry and wife, Joyce; son, Terrell and wife, Patricia; daughter Mary Elizabeth Parmer; daughter Ann Rabb and husband, Wayne; daughter, Nan New and husband, David New Jr.; son Dwayne Miller and wife, Shawn; son, Greg Miller and wife, Beth; 14 grandchildren, Darla Nash “Don”, Clay Foster “Missy”, Ferriss Foster, Justin Foster “Tara”, Janee Fisher “Mike”, Jason Parmer “Leigh”, Lauren Hamm “Anthony”, Bryan Rabb “JJ”, Rebecca Beach “Brad”, David Alton New, III “Jerry”, Katie Miller, Sarah Miller, Samantha Miller, Amanda Williams “Colby”; 18 great-grandchildren, Grant Montgomery, Michael Andrews, Huntleigh and Hayden Foster, Jayden and Cooper Foster, Brinkley and Alaina Fisher, Abilene and Ike Parmer, Jay Cramer, Keaton and Braeden Hamm, Reagan and Colton Rabb, Carley Beach, David Alton New IV, Lexie Sessums, Christopher Lambright; and sisters Annie Mae Smith and Johnnye Nations “W.L”.

Pallbearers will be Clay Foster, Jason Parmer, Justin Foster, Bryan Rabb, David Alton New III and Brad Beach. Honorary pallbearers will include Foster and Son employees.
