The Mississippi School of the Arts wrapped-up its first annual summer camp. 44 students from across the state participated in various art programs throughout the week.
On Friday, June 6 students displayed their work through vocal performances, literary showcases, theater improvisations, dance routines and an art exhibit.
The camp was supported by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission through the Mississippi legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
MSA is one of two specialty schools in the state (the other being Mississippi School for Math and Science). MSA focuses on visual, literary and performance arts. The school requires a two-year commitment from high school juniors and seniors.
