Graveside Services for Edgar Jackson of McCall Creek are 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at McCall Creek Church of God Cemetery. Bro. Travis Touchstone will be officiating. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of service at McCall Creek Church of God.
Mr. Jackson, 78, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Liberty Community Living Center. He was born on March 9, 1936, in Wisner, Louisiana to Everett and Maybelle Posey Jackson.
He was retired from Armstrong Tire in Natchez. He served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid gardener, loved to sing gospel music with the Gospel Travelers, camping and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Mr. Jackson was a friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the McCall Creek Church of God.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Betty Carroll, Rachel Rippy and Mary Jane Furr; and brothers, Robert L. Jackson and Earl K. Jackson.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Pauline Magee Jackson; son, Mark Jackson and wife, Theresa, of Liberty; brothers, Clifton Jackson and wife, Faye, Henry Jackson and wife, Lois and Edward Jackson and wife, Sandy; sister, Dorothy Jackson Wilkinson and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Samuel Gage Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
