Election marks voter ID debut

Published 10:00 pm Saturday, May 31, 2014

Tuesday’s election will make history as voters are required to present a photo identification card before voting.

The requirement is the result of a constitutional initiative passed by state voters, and the Mississippi secretary of state’s office has been busy educating citizens about how to comply with the law. For more information on the types of IDs that may be used, please visit the Mississippi Voter ID website at msvoterid.ms.gov.

Polls will be open in Lincoln County Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the primary election for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives Third Congressional District.
