The Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma has named the recipients of its annual Grant-in-Aid Award and the inaugural Mini-Grant program.

Kaylee Walker of Brookhaven is the 2025 recipient of the annual Grant-in-Aid award. The award is presented to a Copiah-Lincoln Community College student pursuing a career in education, who demonstrates academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for learning.

Walker is preparing to transfer to the Mississippi University for Women in the fall, where she will pursue a degree in English education. She is committed to becoming an English teacher and inspiring the next generation of students is both admirable and promising.

Brandi Gremillion of Wesson is the first recipient of the Theta Chapter’s Mini-Grant program. Her proposal focused on increasing student success by ensuring that every child in her classroom has access to a personal set of headphones — a tool she believes is essential for focused learning in today’s technology-integrated environment. 

With the mini-grant, Gremillion will be able to enhance the educational experience for her students, promoting both independence and engagement in the classroom and beyond. 

Delta Kappa Gamma is an international society of women educators committed to promoting professional excellence, personal growth, and the advancement of education worldwide. The Theta Chapter, based in Wesson, supports local students and educators through scholarships and service.
