NEW SIGHT — A woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle left the roadway and struck a small tree Monday morning. Her condition is unknown but she was able to walk to the ambulance under her own power.
King’s Daughters Medical Center, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and New Sight Fire Department were dispatched to the wreck on New Sight Drive at 11 a.m. and cleared the scene around 11:40 a.m.
A recent shower had made the road and grass wet. The vehicle appeared to have left the roadway and struck a small tree where it came to a stop. KDMC workers helped the driver out of the vehicle.
The wreck is a good reminder for drivers to exercise caution when there is precipitation, as initial rainfall can make the roadway slick.
