Sarah H. Deines

Sarah H. Deines, 87, of Brookhaven, MS, died April 18, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Moorehead, MS, Nov. 7, 1937, to Ernest Holcomb and Modena Hester.

Sarah’s primary love was her family and many friends. She loved to travel to Hawaii and also visited China, Alaska, and various European destinations. Sarah was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in 1950 and enjoyed sharing her faith with everyone she met. She was a shopper and loved to share gifts with everyone.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Charles Deines; parents; sister, Freddie Farnham Carney; and grandson, Grant Nations.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Laura Nations (Dean), Lisa Lucara (Curtis), and Leah McCurley (John); sister, Mary Martha Baskin; six grandchildren, Chris Nations, Brandon Nations, Tiah Lindstrand, Trenton Lindstrand, Ethan Lucara, and Hayden Lucara; eight great-grandchildren, Dottie Nations, Christopher Nations, Amelia Nations, Addisyn Nations, Ever Stevens, Trip Stevens, Loch Stevens, Layla Lindstrand; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Heidi Thornton and Shi Banks at Deaconess Hospice and her caregiver, Lacey Barfoot.
