The United States Forest Service is conducting a recreation master plan study for the Okhissa Lake Recreation Area to develop a vision for the future of the study area through site analysis and community input. Draft concepts have been prepared, and USFS wants public feedback.
A public input workshop will be Wednesday, April 16, 5-6:30 p.m. at the Franklin County Courthouse, 55 Main St., Meadville. Attendees can share their ideas and help guide the vision for the area. The event will be hosted. The workshop will provide an update on the project, share draft concepts for the future vision of the Okhissa Lake Recreation Area, and collect community feedback through open discussion and activities.
Okhissa Lake is a 4,400-acre designated recreation area consisting of a 1,000-acre lake. Facilities currently include a boat ramp, parking, world class fishing, picnic areas, swimming areas, a water ski area, and scenic views throughout the area.
A public online survey is also open until April 15 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QSC6XGR
