The Lincoln County Friends of the Library has received a large contribution of more than 2,000 “fine books in excellent condition” from an estate, with the sale extending through Saturday.
The books are not priced, but people are encouraged to make a donation as they wish, said Friends president Bill Perkins.
“The proceeds we generate will help the library with various things,” Perkins said. “Last year, we were able to buy them a new refrigerator and new range, give $1,000 to children’s programs, and $500 for the library to have the right to show films.”
The sale will extend through Saturday at the Lincoln County Public Library on South Jackson Street. The library opens at 9 a.m. daily, and remains open until 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, until 5 p.m. on Friday, and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
