PTK society hosts induction at Holmes CC

The Kappa Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa held its spring induction ceremony on Feb. 26 in McDaniel Auditorium at Holmes Community College, celebrating the achievements of new members joining the prestigious international honor society. Members inducted from Lincoln County were Colten Kimble and Cayden Smith.
The ceremony commenced with a processional featuring officers, current members, advisors, faculty, and special guests, all accompanied by the official song of Phi Theta Kappa. Wendy Grace, Academic Coordinator of the Goodman Campus, welcomed attendees.
Keynote remarks were delivered by Holmes president Dr. Jim Haffey, along with insights from Dr. Luke Jones, Dean of Career Technical Programs. The event was directed by the PTK chapter executive officer team, comprised of Janey McRae, Evan Yates, Kaylee Everett, and Maeson Jolley.
Andy Wood, Vice President of the Goodman Campus, announced the new members, acknowledging their commitment to academic excellence and leadership during the traditional formalities of the ceremony.
The event concluded with remarks from Hannah Pierce of the Mississippi State University Office of Admissions and Scholarships, who also hosted a reception after the ceremony. This gathering provided an opportunity for fellowship among new inductees, families, and guests to celebrate their achievements.
Special thanks were extended to Kappa Alpha Chapter advisors Will Alexander, Simonee Miller, and Charles Wood for their ongoing support and guidance.
