BROOKHAVEN — Nick Johnson has worked as a physical therapist in the area for the last 12 years. Southern Bone and Joint Specialists Rehabilitation Open House Thursday celebrated the start of a new chapter in his career.
Located next to Southern Bone and Joint Orthopedic at 815 US51 North, the Rehabilitation side of the business will work closely with doctors and surgeons to provide high quality of care. Johnson said they will treat patients from outside facilities as well.
“It really was kind of an unique opportunity to come over here and specialize in the orthopedic realm and work with a well respected group and work closely with them,” Johnson said. “I liked the uniqueness of the chance to start and run a new clinic which is a new opportunity for me.”
Johnson graduated from Delta State prior to going to PT school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. After graduating from PT school in 2012, he worked in the area for different providers.
He walked around the new rehab space helping a patient as he talked.
“I would say it is very rewarding when you are able to help someone figure out a problem and improve their pain or get them back to their regular activities,” Johnson said.
Johnson is certified in mechanical diagnosis and therapy and dry needling therapy.
He said Southern Bone and Joint Rehabilitation has grown so much they have hired an assistant physical therapist Jana Morgan.
“We look forward to serving the community,” Johnson said.
