Driver Service Bureau experiencing statewide issues, limited services available

The Mississippi Driver Service Bureau is experiencing significant technical issues at all statewide locations.
The issues stem from a recent system upgrade. While all locations remain open, wait times are considerably longer than usual, with some transactions taking up to one hour to complete, instead of the previous 6 to 7 minutes.
“We encourage customers to delay their visit if possible,” a DSB statement issued Monday reads. “For those who must visit a location, please be prepared for extended wait times.”
DSB personnel and the software vendor are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
All locations are open as of Tuesday, operating during regular business hours, but with limited services available, according to DPS representative Bailey Martin. Services offered will include firearm permits, court-required registry, and ID cards not related to driver licenses.
Individuals requesting firearm permit renewals are encouraged to download the required forms online and submit applications by mail. Visit https://www.driverservicebureau.dps.ms.gov/Firearms/Home for the forms.
“We will work with our state and local partners to address any issues with licenses or credentials that may have expired during this time period,” the statement continued. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during this time.”
