BROOKHAVEN — A series of vehicle burglaries have targeted Ford F-150s in Brookhaven recently. Brookhaven Police Department issued a public service announcement warning owners to be on the lookout.
The crimes have occurred near local businesses and are currently under investigation. Brookhaven Police Chief Kenny Collins stated preliminary evidence suggests the suspects may be from the Jackson areas.
BPD encourages residents to protect themselves and property by not leaving valuable items or firearms inside the vehicle and ensuring your vehicle is locked and parked in well-lit places whenever possible.
“If you discover your vehicle has been burglarized, please contact the Brookhaven Police Department immediately at 601-833-2424,” Collins said. “Avoid touching or moving items in or around the vehicle as this may disturb evidence. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our community safe.”
