A Lincoln County man arrested in 2020 for illegally harvesting turkeys (and an alligator) has been arrested again for attempting a different kind of poaching.

Allen Shelton Morgan Jr., of 1631 NW Fairman Lane, was arrested by the Nassau County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office and charged with three felony counts related to soliciting sex with a minor.

The 53-year-old was charged on Jan. 17 with using a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child by misrepresenting age; using a 2-way communication device in the process; and traveling to meet a minor. Morgan has a bond of $110,006 and remains in the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center in northwest Florida.

In 2020, Morgan was charged with 28 violations by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. His charges at booking were unlawful possession of game, failure to report harvest, 14 counts of supplemental feeding, headlighting deer, killing turkey during a closed season, possession of an alligator with a permit, and unlawful taking of game and hunting during a closed season.

Arrested in the same investigation were three Wesson residents charged with a total of 215 violations. The group was believed to have poached nearly 100 turkeys and trespassing in multiple counties during the 2019 season.
