NEW SIGHT — A home on Old US51 was saved from a truck fire Wednesday afternoon. A 1985 GMC Sierra was destroyed by the fire.
Firefighters from New Sight and Heucks Retreat Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the fire around 2P.M. A firefighter on scene reported they were trying to keep the fire from reaching the home while fire trucks were en-route. Once engines arrived on scene, the fire had spread to the corner of a carport where it was stopped. Charred, damaged wood could be seen.
Attentions then turned to putting out the truck fire and cooling the wreckage off.
No one was hurt in the fire.
New Sight and Heucks Retreat cleared the scene around 2:55 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
