Rainfall expected tonight

BROOKHAVEN — Some form of precipitation is starting to fall in Lincoln County as of time of publication. More rainfall is expected tonight as a winter storm impacts northern Mississippi.

National Weather Service forecasts a 100 percent chance of rain with two to three inches of rainfall expected from Thursday night through Friday. Residents have reported a strange ice like precipitation falling out of the sky in Lincoln County. One reported to The Daily Leader that it was hard to see this preipitation but they could hear it hitting things.

Temperatures will drop to a low of 36 tonight and warm up to a high of 43 Friday. Friday night’s low is 32 degrees. The dangerous cold conditions with substantial wind chills are no more according to the NWS. Temperatures will heat up a little bit into next week with highs eventually reaching the 50s.
