BROOKHAVEN — Hundreds of Lincoln County residents are without power as a line of severe storms and damaging winds roll through Mississippi Sunday night.

A tornado watch continues for Lincoln County until 9 p.m. according to the National Weather Service. Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency opened a safe room at the Brookhaven Building until the weather threat went away.

Entergy reports 1,605 customers in Lincoln County are without power as of 8:35 pm. Southwest Electric reports 134 customers in Lincoln County are without power. Magnolia Electric reports 208 customers are without power.

Cold temperatures with highs in the 40s and lows below freezing are expected in the week following these storms.
