Brookhaven police make arrests after Christmas Eve shooting

BROOKHAVEN — Two suspects were arrested in connection to a Christmas Eve shooting just before midnight. Brookhaven Police Department have not released the names of those in custody.
Brookhaven Police Chief Kenny Collins stated in a press release that officers responded to a shots fired call around 5 p.m. Christmas Eve in the 400 block of Main Street. The victim who was shot was airlifted to Jackson and remains in stable condition.
Detectives along with patrol units worked throughout the evening to locate the suspects and take them into custody just before midnight on Amite Road.
“I would like to thank my officers for their hard work and determination in getting those two into custody,” Collins said. “Meanwhile, the investigation will continue to ensure that all parties involved are brought to justice.”
