BROOKHAVEN — Several businesses aced recent health inspections by the Mississippi Department of Health. According to the department’s records, one of the businesses is a new restaurant in Brookhaven. 

El Sombrero, located at 916 Brookway Boulevard, earned an “A” rating for the restaurant and for their bar. According to the Department of Revenue records, an alcohol permit has not been issued for El Sombrero yet. The restaurant stated in a Facebook post they would receive their first food order Monday and for everyone to stay tuned for further updates. 

The Crouton earned an “A” rating for the ninth straight time and 10th time overall. It is located at 103 S. Railroad Street. 

Dog Ear Books and WildFox Coffee, which the Dog Ear Books side will have a ribbon cutting Thursday at 2 p.m., earned an “A” rating for the third straight time. It is located at 512 W. Monticello Street. 

Hunts Brothers in City Mart, located at 900 North Jackson Street, earned an “A” rating for the second time since 2022. 

Tita’s Deli, located at 1811 MS-550, earned an “A” rating for the second straight time since June 2024.

Grizzly Diner, located at 990 West Lincoln Drive SW, earned an “A” rating for the second straight time since June 2024. 

Taste and See Cakes and Catering earned an “A” rating for the ninth straight time since 2020. Taste and See is located at 2838 Summit Drive Southwest.
