Special agents from the office of State Auditor Shad White have arrested Coahoma County Deputy Coroner Markeith Mosley, charging him with one count of embezzlement.

Mosley is alleged to have fraudulently used a county Fuelman card for his personal use between June 2021 and November 2023.
“We will continue to hold the line when it comes to fraud, whether it be big or small,” said White. “We will continue to work with prosecutors to make sure that taxpayer money is protected.”

If convicted, Mosley faces up to 10 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines. All individuals arrested by the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
