BROOKHAVEN — At the end of a Lincoln County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday, Board Attorney Greg Malta said the board would send a letter to ADSI’s new owner Meridian Waste Services. The letter simply states why they are not paying the final bill in full for ADSI’s garbage collection due to service failures at the end of the contract.

According to a copy of the letter provided by Malta, Lincoln County’s final payment to Meridian Waste to close out the contract with ADSI will be $32,071.05. The payment figure is based upon the expenses incurred by Lincoln County having to collect solid waste on behalf of constituents due to ADSI’s failure to perform contractual duties in Sept. 2024.

ADSI’s non-performance cost the County $119,656.20 in trebled actual costs per Section 4.05 of their solid waste contract. According to a cost breakdown, Meridian Waste sent an invoice of $151,727.25. By subtracting the actual costs, Lincoln County settled on a payment of $32,071.05.
