BROOKHAVEN — Firefighters responded to a small apartment building on fire at the Jackson Square apartment complex on North Jackson Street Wednesday morning. Four engines were on scene to put out the fire around 5:50 a.m. By 6:10 a.m. any visible flame had been extinguished.

Brookhaven Fire Chief Jeff Ainsworth said the State Fire Marshall’s Office was on their way to investigate the fire.
