SUMMIT — One man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Pike County Monday afternoon. Cpl. Craig James, public affairs officer for Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M, reported the crash. 

According to MHP’s report, at approximately 5:27 p.m. the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a crash at the intersection of MS-570 and River Road. Henson Childers, 66, of Jayess was killed in the crash according to the report. 

MHP states Childers was traveling in a 2013 Cadillac SRX eastbound on MS-570 when it collided with a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by 62-year-old Theron Morgan of Jayess traveling westbound. 

The crash remains under investigation by Mississippi Highway Patrol.
