Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Wells Dunaway will be on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Thompson Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS, at 12:00. Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Thompson Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12:00. Rev. Jim Bradford will be officiating the services, with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Dunaway, 89, of Smithdale, MS, passed from this life on Nov. 24, 2024, at Halo Havens in Brookhaven, MS. She was born at home on Nov. 4, 1935, in Smithdale, MS, to Mr. Earl Wells and Mrs. Aylene Burris Wells.
She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, reading, baking for her grandchildren, and taking care of her family. She was a long-time employee of Southwest General Insurance Agency in Summit, MS.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Aylene Wells; husband, Jerry W. Dunaway; brother, Billy Wells; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Carruth.
Survivors are her sons, Mark Dunaway (Margaret), Scott Dunaway (Janet); sisters, Gloria Williams (Sammy), Paulette Carruth (the late Jimmy), Sharon Coon (Homer); sisters-in-law, Glenda Wells (the late Billy), Linda Harvey; grandchildren, Summer Dunaway (Dale), Shannan Boxold (Jim), Brady Dunaway (Jessica), and Laura Leigh Nations (Gabe); great-grandchildren, Magnolia Dunaway, Jackson Nations, Madden Dunaway, Beau Christopher Boxold; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Scott Dunaway, Brady Duanway, Gabe Nations, Greg McCaskell, Jeremy Brown, and Dwayne Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Harry Wells and Ray Andrews.
The family would like to express a very deep-hearted “Thank you” to Jaci King and the staff at Halo Haven for their dedicated and compassionate care.
