Showers in Monday night forecast

BROOKHAVEN — Rain is in the forecast tonight. The expected precipitation comes on the heels of drought conditions improving in all of Lincoln County.
The National Weather Service in Jackson states there is a 60 percent chance of showers Monday night. More rain could come later on Thanksgiving day with 40 percent chances of thunderstorms Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Any forecasted rain could help lessen wildfire danger and get moisture levels back to normal. Lincoln County still needs between 2 to 3 inches of rain to get back to normal soil moisture levels.
Temperatures will be warm during the day and night for the first half of this week. The high Tuesday and Wednesday are 66 degrees and 75 degrees respectively. Wednesday’s low will reach 62 degrees. However, cold temperatures will return.
NWS Jackson forecasts a low of 38 degrees Thursday, 33 degrees Friday and 38 degrees Saturday. The high Friday will be 53 degrees, 56 Saturday and 54 Sunday.
