Power remains out for almost 200 customers

BOGUE CHITTO — Power is out for almost two hundred customers in Lincoln County as of 4:05 p.m.. The power outage comes as strong winds are forecast for the area today. Reports this morning showed around 1,300 customers were without power at one point.

National Weather Service warns sustained wind speeds could reach 20 to 25 mph with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph which could cause weakened trees and limbs to fall throughout this afternoon. Wind speeds were expected to slow down going into tonight.

NWS Jackson did report wind gusts reached 35 mph and sustained speeds reached 24 mph at a weather station in McComb Wednesday.
