The Lincoln County Public Library recently hosted an event to celebrate the works of Brookhaven photographer Bob Coke. “The Jazzmen: Preservation Hall Portraits in Black and White” presented a collection of photos by the photographer, with a gallery talk by New Orleans Jazz Museum curator David Kunian, and musical performance by saxophonist and Tugaloo College associate music professor Dr. Jessie Primer III. Brookhaven artist Dr. Kim Sessums, who organized the exhibit of photos taken by Coke in 1961 of jazz musicians performing at Preservation Hall in New Orleans, also spoke on the life of Bob Coke.
