After a three-day trial in Lincoln County Circuit Court, a Lincoln County man has been found guilty of four counts of possession of child pornography.
Ethan D. Jackson, formerly of Hurricane Lake Drive, was arrested in December 2022 by Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies, just days after an investigation that began Dec. 23. After a forensic analysis was completed, multiple images of child pornography were found on the tablet belonging to Jackson.
Circuit Judge David Strong sentenced Jackson, now age 30, to 80 years, to serve the first 60 in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. This sentence will be served on a day-for-day basis without the possibility of early release.
“I would like to thank the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for their hard work and investigation that led to a conviction,” said District Attorney Brendon Adams. “Investigator Brian Boyd (LCSO), Ashley Boldig (AG’s Office), and Investigator Max Adams (PCSO) did an outstanding job. They worked countless hours to ensure that the case was as seamless as possible.”
The case was prosecuted by Adams, along with Assistant District Attorneys Rodney Tidwell and Steven Waldrup.
“I am proud of the work that my team did on this trial. These type of cases are the ones that make my blood boil. Being a father of three children, this type of case really hits home,” Adams said. “The images that were produced to the jury were some of the worst images I have ever seen in my career as a prosecutor. I want to thank all members of the jury for being so attentive and returning a just verdict. We will continue to fight to hold those that break the law accountable for their actions.”
