Brookhaven man wanted in stolen vehicle case now in custody

BROOKHAVEN — One of two Brookhaven men wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle case in Claiborne County turned himself in Tuesday after the other had already been arrested. Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office reports the men were suspects in a stolen vehicle case from October 2.
According to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, a concerned parent contacted them to report her 2020 White Dodge Charger as being stolen from a new dorm area at Alcorn State University on Oct. 2. Investigation revealed two vehicles were stolen and left the campus together at 4 a.m. and were noticed missing around 6:30 a.m.
Rushing said they worked with Claiborne County in the case and were able to locate one of the vehicles. Tony Bussey, 21, from Brookhaven was arrested and has since been arraigned and released on bond.
An additional arrest warrant was issued for Eric Jones Jr, 21, of Brookhaven. Jones turned himself in Tuesday and is now in the Lincoln County Jail.
A white dodge charger with racing stripes is the second vehicle which has not been recovered yet.
