Chamber of Commerce names 2024 Junior Ambassadors, part 2

The 2024 Junior Ambassadors will soon begin their duties as the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce marks the beginning of the Christmas season with the annual Christmas Open House on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Ambassadors serve as ambassadors to the business community. They must be ninth-grade students who live in Lincoln County. Junior Ambassadors will serve as hostesses at participating businesses, matched alphabetically. They will also assist Santa Claus with candy distribution toward the end of the route of the Brookhaven Christmas Parade, Thursday, Dec. 5. More community service hours will be available during the spring semester.
Twenty-seven teens will serve. Following are 11 of the Ambassadors, in alphabetical order.
Journee Sam’ya McCall
Journee Sam’ya McCall, daughter of Sameika Adams, is a freshman at Brookhaven High School. Journee is an All-A Honor Roll student and a member of the Junior High School Honor Society. She is looking forward to volunteering more for her community. Her favorite thing about Brookhaven is going to the movies.
Skyler Michelle Moore
Skyler Michelle Moore, daughter of Daniel and Crystal Moore is a freshman at Bogue Chitto. Skyler is a A-B Honor Roll student with exemplary grades in science and math. She has been a member of Jr. Beta Club and enjoyed cheering for the Bobcats thru pee wee and her Jr. High years. Skyler attends the First Priority Organization and is excited about becoming more involved in our community. Her favorite thing about Lincoln County is being close to her friends and that it’s a beautiful place to live.
Raylee Diane Prather
Raylee Diane Prather, daughter of Randy and Jessica Prather, is a freshman at Enterprise Attendance Center. Raylee is a member of the student council, Future Business Leaders of America, Beta Club, and is an Honor Roll student. She is on the varsity dance and cheer squad at Enterprise. She is an active member of the Topisaw Baptist Church youth group. Her favorite thing about Lincoln County is growing up in the same small town that her family grew up in.
Abigail Susanne Russell
Abigail “Abby” Susanne Russell, daughter of Brandon and Geralyn Russell, is a freshman at Brookhaven Academy. Abby is a member of the Jr. High National Honor Society, an Honor Roll Student, and is the 9th Grade Class Treasurer. She is a member of the Lincoln County 4-H meat judging team which recently placed 1st in State! Abby is a member of the BA track team. She is an active member of First Baptist Church, Lincoln County 4-H and a nationally winning Livestock Exhibitor. Her favorite thing about Brookhaven is the tight-knit community that feels like one big family.
Lily Kingston Smith
Lily Kingston Smith, daughter of Dr. Chad and Anna Smith, is a freshman at Brookhaven Academy. =Lily is a member of the Jr. High National Honor Society, Jr. Scholar, award winner in MS Studies with academic excellence accolades. She is a member of the JV cheer squad and plays basketball for the Lady Cougars. She enjoys volunteering for Operation Christmas Child, Halo Havens, and for the Little Cougar Basketball team. Lilly’s favorite thing about Brookhaven is the downtown area and all the great restaurants.
Mary Claire Sones
Mary Claire Sones, daughter of Dr. Bill and Carrie Sones, is a freshman at Brookhaven High School. Claire is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, an All-A Honor Roll student, and National Honor Society. She received the Principal’s Award in both 7th and 8th grades. She is a member of the BHS cheer, tennis, and soccer team and was awarded “Most School Spirit.” Claire is a member of First Baptist Church and enjoys volunteering for the I Love India garage sale and “Loving Lincoln” each year. Her favorite thing about Brookhaven is growing up near both of her grandparents.
Annie McCall Stewart
Annie McCall Stewart, daughter of Dr. Michael and Leah Stewart, is a freshman at Brookhaven High School. Annie is an All-A Honor Roll Student, member of the Jr. Honor Society, FCA, and serves on the Principal’s Advisory Board. She was voted “Most Likely to Succeed” in Jr. High. She is a cheerleader at BHS and won the 2024 State Tennis Championship in Girls Doubles. She is an active member of FBC. Annie’s favorite thing about Brookhaven is the close-knit community where anyone will help you when needed.
Jenna Beth Townsend
Jenna Beth Townsend, daughter of Chad and Jennifer Townsend, is a freshman at Brookhaven High School. Jenna Beth is an Honor Roll student and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is a member of the BHS varsity tennis team and soccer team. She is active in the St. Francis youth group. Jenna Beth’s favorite thing about Brookhaven is that everyone knows each other in our small town.
Lainey Grace Varnado
Lainey Grace Varnado, daughter of Lance and Cara Varnado and Sissy Davis, is a freshman at Enterprise Attendance Center. Lainey is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, First Priority, Beta Club, the yearbook staff, and is an All-A Honor Roll student. She is a member of the Enterprise cheer squad, tennis, and dance team. She is an active member of the Ruth Baptist Church youth group. Lainey’s favorite thing about Brookhaven is all the great shopping.
Emma Lillianne Williams
Emma Lillianne Williams, daughter of Jim and Allison Williams, is a freshman at Enterprise Attendance Center. Emma is a member of Beta Club, First Priority Organization, Future Business Leaders of America, an Honor Roll Student and serves on the yearbook staff. She has received highest average awards and been selected as Student of the Quarter. She is a varsity cheerleaders, dancer, and a member of the archery team. Emma is a member of the Topisaw Youth Group. Her favorite thing about Lincoln County is the friendly, small town environment.
Bentley Diana Wilson
Bentley Diana Wilson, daughter of Charles and Paige Wilson, is a freshman at Brookhaven Academy. Bentley is a MS Junior Scholar, member of the Jr. High National Honor Society, recipient of the Academic Excellence Award, and has been selected as Student of the Month. She is a JV cheerleader and received the Spirit of UCA Cheer Award. Bentley is an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church youth group and enjoys performing in school plays such as Annie and The Lion King. Her favorite thing about living in Brookhaven is the events such as festivals and parades and all the unique shopping experiences.
