Untold numbers of people have focused on prayer as a tool to transform the United States of America into “one nation under God” prior to the upcoming presidential election. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people in the Lincoln County area plan to gather Sunday, Nov. 3, to pray together in two events.
The first is at 3 p.m. at The Haven Cross, located in front of Easthaven Baptist Church on Hwy. 84 in Brookhaven. The theme for the event is “At the Cross — Where Lives are Transformed!”
No seating will be provided — attendees should bring their own lawn chairs.
Prayers will be offered for the unsaved, as well as the city, community, county, nation, and world. The event is sponsored by the Lincoln Baptist Association.
The second prayer gathering is at 4:45 p.m. on South First Street, in front of the Lincoln County/Brookhaven Government Complex. The theme is “Community Prayer for America: A Fair and Peaceful Election Day.”
Hosted by Better Brookhaven, the prayer rally is a petition for fairness in the final leg of campaigning, fairness at the polls, fairness in the count, and peace — before, during and after — the election.
No campaigning of any type is permitted at either event. The prayer rallies are both open to the public.
