The Mississippi Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into a collision between two large trucks on Interstate 55 in Copiah County.

The wreck occurred near mile marker 55 in the northbound lanes at approximately 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23. An 18-wheeler and a tanker truck collided, but neither driver sustained injuries, according to Trooper Darnika Mayfield of Troop C.

As of 11:40, one lane on I-55 remained closed to facilitate emergency response efforts and clear the roadway.
