City approves new Mobile Home Park ordinance

The City of Brookhaven has approved a new Mobile Home Park ordinance.

The City’s Planning Commission recently reviewed the proposed ordinance and approved it — with a few minor corrections — and returned it to the Board of Aldermen. On Tuesday, the Board voted unanimously to approve it, and make it effective Feb. 2, 2025.

The date was suggested by Alderman-at-large Don Underwood to allow 90 days for improvements to be made by park owners, rather than the standard 30 days before new ordinances have historically taken effect. Park owners will be notified of requirements, such as sewage and dumpster upgrades.
