Plenty of local options to celebrate Halloween

BROOKHAVEN — Lincoln County will have dozens of options for families to celebrate Halloween this year. Children can find treats and fun across the County with trunk or treat and fall festival events. 

Not all of the events will be at churches. For example, The Aspen will host a trick or treat on Oct 30 from 5 pm to 7 pm. and parts of downtown Brookhaven hosts swarms of children for Halloween.

Keith White Ford will host a Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will be at 2102 Veterans Boulevard in McComb. Local businesses will be giving away treats. 

The Assembly Brookhaven and Consistency Beyond Limitations will work together to host a trunk or treat event on Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Railroad park. The trunk or treat event will have food, games, bounce houses, and giveaways. 

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church will host a trunk or treat event on Oct. 27 from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Hot dogs and chips will be served in the fellowship hall. 

Ole Brook Gift Shop will host a trunk or treat session on Oct. 31 at 201 North Jackson Street in Brookhaven. There will be candy, face painting and games. 

Easthaven Baptist Church will host trunk or treat from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 27. 

Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M will host a trunk or treat on Monday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at their headquarters on US84. 

First Baptist Church Brookhaven will host a trunk or treat event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the main parking lot weather permitting, There will be games, food and fun. 

New Sight Baptist Church will host a trunk or treat on Oct. 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The church is located at 629 Forest Trail NE. 

CenterPoint Church will host a trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 16. CenterPoint is located by the Exchange Club Park and near Dirt Cheap.  

Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will host a trunk or treat on Oct. 31 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. 

Co-Lin Community College will host a trunk or treat from 5 to 6 pm on Oct. 29 in the old commuter parking lot. 

First United Methodist Church will host a trunk or treat on Oct. 30 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. with candy, games, snacks, supper and fun for all ages. 

Kids R Us in Brookhaven will host a trunk or treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 at 523 Schwem Avenue. 

Beehive Homes will host a trunk or treat on Oct. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1031 West Congress Street in Brookhaven.

Fall Festivals

Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, located at 814 Markwood Loop SE, Bogue Chitto, will host a fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Children can enjoy crafts, games, food, hayride and bounce houses. 

Macedonia Baptist Church will host a fall festival from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. There will be pumpkin decorating, face painting, door prizes, food, fun, trunk or treating, hayrides, cotton candy, funnel cakes and a chili cookoff. 

Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 680 Mount Zion Road, NW, Brookhaven, will host a fall festival on Nov. 3 with a soup kickoff and trunk or treat at 4 p.m.

Philadelphia Baptist Church will host a fall festival on Nov. 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with plenty of food and drinks for guests. There will be door prizes, boiled peanuts, jump houses for kids, live entertainment with Gage and Lacey Reeves, a chili cook off, a candy walk, ax throwing and games. Philadelphia Baptist Church is located in the Caseyville Community at 3646 MS-550, Wesson. 

Mt. Wade Baptist Church will host a fall festival put on by the youth program. The festival will be Oct. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. The church invites people to join them for an evening of fun, food and festivities at 749 North Jackson Street in Brookhaven. 

Fair River Baptist Church will host a fall festival on Oct. 27 at Fair River Baptist Church from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with fun, games, cake walk, food and fellowship. The church will also have their annual Mrs. Nikki’s Canned Food Drive. 

Bethel Temple Church will host the annual fall festival and trunk or treat. The celebration will be Sunday, Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with free hot dogs, chips, drinks, 1 free pumpkin will be given to kids 11 and under. A silent auction and chili cookoff will be held as well. Trunks will be open from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. only. The church is located at 1610 Caleb Drive SE, Brookhaven. 

Arlington Baptist Church will host a fall festival on Oct. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. with trunk or treat, games, food and fun. Arlington is located at 1284 Bogue Chitto Road SW. 

Friendship Baptist Church will host a fall festival on Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. with slides, hayrides, trunk or treat and a chili cookoff at 1502 Friendship Lane. 

Strong Hope Baptist Church will host a fall festival event on Oct. 27 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with trunk or treat, food, door prizes, hayride, hay maze and kids activities. The church is located at 1144 King Road, Wesson. 

Wanilla Baptist Church will host their fall festival on Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Trunk or treat, food, cake walk, pumpkin painting, face paint and popcorn will be featured. 

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will host their fall festival on Oct. 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a pumpkin patch, chili cook off, trunk or treat, cake walk, games and more. 

New Hope Methodist Church will host their fall festival on Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. The festival will have trunk or treat, cake walk, games, food, pumpkin carving, decorating contest, face painting and 2216 MS-550, Wesson. 

Calvary Pentecostal Church at 969 Holmesville Road, Jayess will host a fall festival on Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be food, fellowship, cornhole, inflatables, hayrides, games, and activity booths. 

Mars Hill Baptist Church in Summit will host a fall festival from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 20 with trunk or treat, face painting, chili contest, crafts and games. The church is located at 6145 Greensburg Road, Summit.
