BROOKHAVEN — Mississippi Department of Health reports eight recent health inspections and seven of those were “A” ratings. The one “C” rating was earned by Donut Palace. 

Donut Palace is located at 412 W. Monticello Street in Brookhaven. MSDH records show the donut shop was marked down for non-compliance with Good Retail practices concerning the presence of insects, rodents and animals. It is the company’s first “C” rating and snapped a streak of seven “A” ratings. 

The facility will be reinspected and any violations which caused the “C” rating must be corrected in a time period not to exceed 10 days. 

Bogue Chitto School earned an “A” rating for the 19th straight time since 2016. Ward’s of Brookhaven earned an “A” rating for the sixth straight time since 2022. Ward’s is located at 201 US51 North. 

Berean Children’s Home, located at 1180 Berean Road SE, Bogue Chitto, earned an “A” rating for the seventh straight time since 2018. Hampton Inn, located at 1213 Hampton Drive, earned an “A” rating for the fourth straight time since 2022. 

583 Nutrition, located at 2640 MS-583, in Bogue Chitto earned an “A” rating for the third straight time since 2022. 

City Mart 1, located at 628 Natchez Ave, earned an “A” rating for the first time and is listed as new construction. A One Stop #10, located at 701 E Monticello Street, earned an “A” rating for the first time and is also listed as new construction. Sometimes new construction implies a change in ownership occurred.
