Fantastic weather accompanies Friday night football

BROOKHAVEN — It might be the first night of perfect Friday Night Football weather. Fall is back in Lincoln County with a cool front following Wednesday’s rain. According to the National Weather Service, parts of northern Lincoln County received about two inches of rain while other parts received a quarter inch to a full inch of rainfall Wednesday.
Hight temperatures are forecast to be in the 80s while lows will cool off at night to the low 60s over the weekend and next week and even reaching 59 degrees Friday night. There is no chance of rainfall in Lincoln County’s forecast going into next week. Weather forecast maps show any rain associated with Hurricane Helene will be over Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and northern Mississippi. Hurricane Helene made landfall Thursday night as a Category 4 hurricane on the coast of Florida.
Late Wednesday night, tropical storm Isaac formed in the Atlantic Ocean where it is expected to curve north east towards the coast of Spain and Portugal.
A separate tropical disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean west of Africa became Tropical Storm Joyce Friday.
According to the seven day weather outlook, the National Hurricane Center forecasts an area of low pressure could form over the southwest Caribbean sea which could lead to another tropical cyclone forming. As of Friday afternoon, it had a 30 percent chance of cyclone formation in the next seven days.
