BROOKHAVEN — A GoFundMe is raising money to help cover the costs of medical expenses for local father Chris Wallace. He is battling Stage 4 Colon Cancer-Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma. 

He is the father of three children and husband of Brittney Wallace. Chris became sick at the end of June and was hospitalized on June 25, 2024. His diagnosis came on July 1. 

According to the GoFundMe organizers, Chris will soon start treatment to hopefully shrink the mass and will undergo a surgery. At a minimum, he has to do three months of chemotherapy. 

“Chris has never been a person to ask anybody for anything. Chris has always worked and supported his wife and children,” organizers wrote. “The time has come that he needs help. If you could find it in your heart to help this dad and husband fight this battle. If you are unable to donate we covet your prayers through this journey.” 

Chris started chemotherapy on Aug. 26, 2024. As of Thursday, $2,153 has been raised out of a $15,000 goal.
