BROOKHAVEN — Construction of a new ALDI location appears to be coming along on Brookway Boulevard. The national grocery store brand is renovating the space formerly held by 601 Sports and Save-A-Lot near 844 Brookway Boulevard. 

Readers asked if ALDI would sell beer or any other alcoholic beverages when it opens later this year. We reached out to the company and got the answer from Regional Vice President Heather Moore.

“”The Brookhaven location will offer an unmatched selection of beer and hard cider for every taste and lifestyle,” Moore said. “Locally ALDI shoppers will be able to choose from a carefully curated selection of award winning, ALDI-exclusive beer and hard ciders.” 

According to ALDI’s website, the company exclusively sells 9 different beers. 

• Cerveza Covista, a Mexican style lager with 4.52% alcohol by volume
• Holland Lager 1839, imported from Holland with a 5.0% alcohol by volume
• Hopping Nomad Session IPA, Indian Pale Ale brewed in the Wisconsin with an 4.5% alcohol by volume
• Independence Harbor Amber Ale, brewed in the New York with a caramel malt and a 5.5% alcohol by volume
• Maguires Stout, an Irish Dry stout brewed in Wisconsin with a 4.2% alcohol by volume 
• Monterrey Cerveza, imported from Guatemala with a 5.3% alcohol by volume
• Wernesgrüner Pilsner, imported from Germany with a 4.9% alcohol by volume
• White Tide Belgian White Ale, imported from Belgium with a 5.0% alcohol by volume
• Wild Range IPA, brewed in New York with a 6.9% alcohol by volume
