BROOKHAVEN — A common question asked by readers as they stop at The Daily Leader office is “Have the land taxes ran yet?” For the past two months, our answer has been no but it is coming. 

This weekend may be the first publication of delinquent taxes in The Daily Leader. Blake Pickering, Tax Assessor and Collector, said the list of delinquent land or property taxes is always published in August. 

Pickering said his office received no objections or appeals to tax rolls in Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. Residents were able to view the tax rolls at the courthouse from July 15 to July 31.
