3 suspects sought in pair of ATM break-ins

Authorities are searching for three individuals who broke into two automatic teller machines Monday in Franklin and Lincoln counties.

At approximately 2:57 a.m. July 29, three black suspects wearing masks were caught on surveillance video breaking into the UMB Bank ATM in Bude, according to Bude Police Chief Reginald Cain.

“The suspects pried the ATM open, but were unsuccessful in obtaining any cash,” Cain said.

At about 3:30 a.m., the same suspects traveled to Regions Bank on Halbert Heights Road in Brookhaven and attempted to break into the ATM there. They were also unable to obtain cash from this machine.

The suspects’ vehicle is a silver GMC Sierra pickup or Chevy Silverado.

Both incidents are under investigation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and Brookhaven Police Department are working with Bude PD to lead to arrests in this case.
