Seventeen-year-old Addie Carver, Miss Mississippi Teen USA, is off to Hollywood, to compete in the national Miss Teen USA competition.

Carver, a rising senior at Lawrence County High School, is the daughter of Dwayne and Kristi Carney, and the late Chuck Carver. She has danced at Showstoppers Studio of Dance in Brookhaven for 14 years, is a varsity cheerleader and All-American cheerleader, works as a student staff teacher, and is vice president of her Beta Club honors chapter.

Carver and the 50 other Miss Teen USA contestants will be involved in multiple activities and rehearsals in the coming days, leading up to the live 42^nd Miss Teen USA pageant on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The pageant begins at 7 p.m. CST and will be televised on The CW television network from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
