Will justice ever come?

While I was on vacation last week, the family of Bridget London Hall had to endure another anniversary of her death. It has been nine years since Bridget was believed to have been murdered in front of her children.

The case is still open. Bridget’s family is not the only local family looking for answers.

A month ago, a young man was shot and killed in Brookhaven. The teenage suspect in the killing is believed to be on the run or at the very least hidden very well in Brookhaven. Police have yet to find this suspect. I can’t imagine the emotions the victim’s family must feel.

The sister of missing Bogue Chitto man Jonathan Paul Estes is also waiting for answers as to what happend. Estes vanished and the case has no new reported breakthroughs.

I think too about the families of local duck hunters Gunner Palmer and Zeb Hughes. Those boys are still missing on the Mississippi River.

People may wonder if justice will ever come for these families or if answers about what happened will ever come. The challenging reality is, we may never know in our earthly lifetime.

I encourage the families who are hurting and looking for answers to never give up in their efforts to find those answers and justice. I would also encourage the families of victims to turn to God for guidance. His love endures forever and only He can mend the hole in your heart.

True final justice is only possible through Jesus Christ, and His justice is one of restoration, renewal and grace. In the end, there will be those who are justified, made righteous through faith in Jesus and those who remain unjustified will be separated from God for all eternity.

Because of God’s love and grace, I encourage readers to show grace to others until justice finally comes.
