Marietta B. Norton, 97, passed away July 21, 2024. Visitation will be 12 p.m.-2 p.m. with the service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church with burial at the church cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Norton was a member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was an artist, poet, and seamstress. She loved her family and studying her bible. Mrs. Norton operated a dairy farm for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Norton; and parents, Henry Harold Blackmon and Modena Lamar.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Sue Kyker (William Kyker Jr.) and Mary Roberta Norton; and three grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Kyker, William Franklin Kyker III, and Ashley Amanda Thompson (Mathew).
