Bank of Brookhaven safe from global IT issues

BROOKHAVEN — Major IT issues for banks, airliners and private businesses caused by a problem with cybersecurity company CrowdStrike have not hurt the Bank of Brookhaven. Bank President Shannon Aker said they do not have any issues Friday afternoon. 

NBC News reported Delta, United and American Airlines had to ground flights due to IT issues and 4,300 flights were canceled Friday morning. 

National Public Radio reported the “blue screen of death,” plagued Microsoft users when a CrowdStrike routine software update malfunctioned. Mac and Linux users were not affected by the malfunction. Systems worldwide were plagued by the issue Friday morning.

Lincoln County’s Central Dispatch is not having any IT issues.  NBC News reported Alaska and New Hampshire had issues with 911 services this morning.
