BROOKHAVEN — For the last month, Lincoln County Board of Supervisors discussed the possibility of upgrading security systems at the Lincoln Civic Center. Board Attorney Greg Malta said they will start the work over again with a formalized bidding process. 

Civic Center Executive Director Chaston Bullock presented two initial bids to the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors on June 18. Supervisors decided to table the discussion and get more bids which they did by June 23. On July 1, Bullock told the board B&E was the last company they were waiting for a bid from and supervisors decided to wait on taking action. 

Ole Brook Fire and Security, TCS Ware, Electronic Controls and Computer Works all submitted bids on providing needed upgrades to the security camera systems at the Civic Center. Funding for the project would come in part from the Lincoln County building and grounds fund. 

Monday’s action reset the process. 

“I’ve asked them to issue a new set of specifications and advertise for bids so we can formalize the bid process,” Malta said.
