Visitation services for James E. “Puddin” Smith will be on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Brookhaven Funeral Home from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

“Puddin” Smith, 75, of Caseyville, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born on March 24, 1949 in McComb, MS to James Hoyte Smith and Helen Myers Smith. He worked offshore for 31 years and retired there as a Driller. He also worked on land rigs as a consultant/company man for 16 additional years.

He enjoyed raising cows and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyte Smith and Charlie and Helen Boyd; daughter April Lynn Smith; and sisters Billie Jean Jackson and Inez Farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Brown Smith; daughter, Cindy G. Smith and son, Danny E. Smith; 2 grandsons, Tanner James Smith and Kash Eli Smith, and one granddaughter, Laura Laken Smith; sisters, Hilda Frazier (Mack) and Jerri Lynn Felder; brothers-in-law, Terry W. Case, Buddy Hall, Johnny Leggett and Claude Callender; sisters-in-law, Joyce Brown and Frankie Leggett; and a host of nieces and nephews.
