How to watch tonight’s presidential debate

ATLANTA — The first presidential debate for the 2024 election is tonight at 8 p.m. Current president Joe Biden, Democrat, and former president Donald Trump, Republican, will take center stage. Independent Robert Kennedy Jr. did not qualify for the debate. 

CNN will broadcast the debate on TV, streaming platforms and its website. A login is not required to watch the debate on its website. The Associated Press reports other netwroks have agreed to carry the debate live. 

Moderators for the debate will be Jake Tapper and Dana Bash from CNN.

Neither candidate has officially been nominated by their respective party for the presidency but are presumptive nominees. 

Donald Trump has not announced his running mate for Vice President but current Vice President Kamala Harris accepted an invitation from CBS for a debate on July 23 or Aug. 13. The next presidential debate after tonight will be on Sep. 10 on ABC.
