BROOKHAVEN — Mississippi Department of Health reported four local businesses or institutions aced health inspections last week. There were no other health inspection grades reported in Lincoln County over the past week. 

According to health department records, the Lincoln County Jail earned an “A” rating in 13 straight health inspections since 2018. The jail is located at 215 Justice Street behind the Lincoln County Courthouse. 

Pokey Dot’s Snowballs, located at 299 US 51 North, earned an “A” rating for the ninth straight time since 2016. The online database shows the snow cone stand has never had a grade worse than “A”. 

Sonic Drive In, located at 934 Brookway Boulevard, earned an “A” rating for the fourth straight time. A “B” rating in 2022 snapped the previous “A” rating streak. Since 2016, Sonic has had 13 “A” ratings. 

Jaine’s Pastry Shop, located at 206 South Whitworth Avenue, earned an “A” rating for the 17th straight time since 2016. Online records show the local business has not earned a rating less than “A”.
