New Hebron woman welcomes birth of triplets

A Lawrence County family has welcomed a set of girl triplets — two of whom are identical.

Anjerrica Lee, of New Hebron, delivered the girls — Ray’Elle, Ray’Lee and Rayne — via Caesarean section at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg on April 19. On June 14, the three sisters were discharged from the neonatal intensive care unit just in time for Fathers Day.

Despite the long list of health risks the mother faced, Lee credits God for the triplets’ healthy outcomes. Lee suffered from polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis, and had been told the possibility of her conceiving a child was slim to none.

Lee spent the final five weeks of her pregnancy on bedrest at FGH, but was able to deliver the babies a few days shy of 30 weeks. There were no complications other than low birth weight.

Lee said she is grateful for the girls’ father, their families and friends, and the FGH health care team. She feels very blessed and excited to start the family’s new chapter at home.
